Besides using Adobe or photography, I have a nack of drawing characters of beloved series or my very own. Each character tells their own story.

One other thing besides designing, tell a story in an advertisement could help you either sell a product or service and connecting the viewers.  

Another great design tool is the power of the camera. You set the stage, put it together and the outcome can be wonderful. 

One thing a designer has to know is the Adobe programs. They truly are the key tools to a designer.
